Coordinate and deliver firefighting services to operations and surrounding sites and ensure that adequate actions are taken to mitigate and eliminate risks, where reasonably practicable, maintain a safe working environment and the protection of people, property and assets, provide rescue, ambulance and medical services. Attend to hazmat operations such as spills and gas leaks.

-Manage staff planning and queries

-Monitor the delivery of fire prevention, provide training and education programs to employees across operations to promote awareness and a safety responsive culture. Train Firefighters and plant fire team members for emergency readiness.

-Incident command functions, ensuring the state of readiness in the event of an emergency
-Fire prevention duties (safety inspections)

- Maintenance & servicing of Firefighting equipment

-Monitor and implement fire section policy, plans and procedures and implement the ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001, to attain compliance and achieve organisational goals

-Plan and conduct periodic Mock Emergencies and Evacuation drills to personnel around the plant to ensure that they understand the purpose of the exercises and what actions to take in case of emergencies.

-Provide advice, guidance and consultative expertise on fire and related aspects to projects and operational sites to ensure compliance and an understanding of potential dangers


Pre Emergency Plans

Every facility should develop and implement an emergency plan for protecting employees, visitors, contractors and anyone else in the facility.
This part of the emergency plan is called “protective actions for life safety” and evacuation, “shelter-in-place” from an exterior airborne hazard such as a chemical release.

The actions taken in the initial minutes of an emergency are critical
Pre plans help with critical information of what product you dealing with for instance, how to handle it in case of spillage or fire and what personal protective equipment to use. evacuation distance (how far to evacuate) treatment in case of contact (contamination)
