Job Description
• Responsible for maintenance and repair of all electronic and electrical equipment on board the newly built multi-purpose vessel comprising of Navigational and communication equipment, panel boards, lightings PLC, micro-controllers for DP system, steering system, thrusters, main and auxiliary (PTI) propulsions and Gen-sets automation system and Switch gears. Maintains also refrigeration and air conditioning system, UPS, chargers and battery banks.

• Attended the final installations and commissioning of the vessel at shipyard in Vigo Spain, for three (3) months durationincluding various Sea Trials, monitoring and performedfinal inspection, quality control of installation work done on Electronic/electrical and Laboratory equipment. Prepared& maintained work log andreports, attended regular crew meetingswith the Chief Engineer and PortCaptain and finally assigned as on board Chief Electrician duringthe delivery trip of the vessel from Vigo, Spain to Doha, Qatar.

• Performs moderately complex technical functions such as set up, operations, preventive and corrective maintenance check in routinely basis on all electrical/electromechanical equipment and appliances on board the vessel. Respond in troubleshooting electrical problem in Main Engine and AuxiliaryGen-sets, assists engineers in all tasks as required.Does insulation test readings. Maintains moving parts of Windlass, Winches and related deck machineries and inspect secure connections of main & emergency boards and masthead lights.

• Maintains maintenance records, anticipate plans and scheduled maintenance, writes technical specifications for maintenance, repairs and upgrade of electrical equipment include such as but not limited to lightings, indicators, motor controllers, wirings, batteries of Auxiliary and emergency Gen-Sets, rescue boats, general alarm, bridge lightings, mast and battery less telephones.
