Duties: It was my responsibility to manage the branch of 14 team members with a turnover of R6 million a month. It was a fantastic opportunity. I had to motivate to make sure that we as the team; we consistently achieve our monthly targets and exceed them. It was also my duty to ensure that the internal and external marketing is done. It was my duty to train and develop the team members according to the required standards and see to it that I identify areas that could be improved upon. I had the final say on planning for the daily tasks as well as the monthly roster. I rarely had help the clients myself, however when needed to I wasn't afraid to step in.

Duties: In this branch the challenge was to work with a new group of people. My first task was to train them to be in the required standards. I had to interact with clients most of the times to make sure that the standard of the service my team was rendering was of the good quality. I was in charge of the day to day running of the branch, ensuring that the staff were carrying out their duties correctly, and supported if they required support. In so many occasions I had to assist clients myself because of being short staffed, and resolve issues at the same time.

Duties: I trained to be a manager at this branch on my own with the assistance of the Regional Manager. Having worked as the Service Consultant in the previous branch for nine months, helped in fast tracking my training. I was taken to this branch because the management believed I have what it takes referring back to my previous job as a Stock Controller at Pep Ltd.

Duties: This was a great opportunity for me as it prepared me for the management positions that were to follow. I assisted with the opening of savings accounts, granting loans to the qualifying clients, do the telemarketing calls and assist with the external marketing.

Duties: I started at Pep as Store Manager, managing a team of 8 team members. The store had been without a Manager for almost a year, so it was a big challenge to manage people who had been without a manager for that long. Through my performance I was promoted in June 2007 to a position of a Stock Controller. My duties were to manage stock in 15 stores in the area, had to assist with action plans for the stores with high loses. Assist the Area Manager in balancing the stock levels amongst her stores. Check that all the stores were banking on time and that their float balances all the time. Train and develop Store Managers with regards to loss control.
