I studied Archaeology at UCSD, where I learned research methods and theories, and gained experience in both the lab and the field. At UCSD I studied and performed lithic analysis on a collection from Urias, Guatemala, a Maya settlement. I excavated at a Maya city named Nohol Nah in Blue Creek Belize, there I was in charge of unearthing a large terminal deposit, as well as digging burials, recovering artifacts, and participating in lab processing and analysis. I also participated in a dig at Rancho Penasquitos Adobe in Penasquitos California, a Spanish Colonial site with earlier Native American settlements beneath it. At the Adobe I excavated, collectted data for site reports, did detailed drawings and maps of site as well as photographed and processed artifacts to be sent to the lab. I have also interned at The San Diego Archaeological Center in San Pasqual Ca, in the collections lab. There I analysed and processed collections from around San Diego County, other parts of California and Mexico.
