April 2010 - September 2011
Working for a large coffee chain such as Costa gave me high standards of consistent coffee presentation. This is where I first learnt my latte art techniques and was offered the opportunity to take part in a latte art competition against other barista's from Costa's around the UK.
From having previous experience as a supervisor I was able to run the store alone and take on far more responsibility.
As my first full time job I managed to work 40+ hours a week and enjoyed being given far more responsibilities in my job role.
When I was made supervisor I was trained in cashing up, closing and opening the store, placing orders, stock taking, managing the rotor and being in charge of my other team members which I feel gave me a lot more confidence and presented me with welcome challenges.
Tyneside Cinema Coffee Shop
This was a part-time job while I studied for my GCSE's. I mainly handled cash, dealt with the public and served food and cold drinks. Because I was under the age of 18 and the company's policy I was not allowed to use the coffee machines.
