Senior Scientific/ Medical Writer
With extensive professional experience in biomedical research, Nicola Solomon currently serves as a Senior Scientific Writer with City of Hope. She primarily focuses on the medical and surgical oncology field, with an emphasis on translational and clinical research, and clinical trials outcomes. Nicola Solomon’s writing and editing work encompasses scientific grant proposals, manuscripts, abstracts, reviews, clinical trial protocols, and other scientific documents.
In a period of 12 months, Dr. Solomon notably worked on more than two dozen book chapters, manuscripts, and review articles that have been published in respected medical textbooks and academic journals. She has also engaged in work on 11 clinical trial protocols and 12 slide-sets and posters for medical conference presentation.
Nicola Solomon earned her Bachelor’s degree with first-class honors in Molecular Genetics at Monash University in Victoria, Australia. She subsequently pursued doctoral work in the same subject at Melbourne University, graduating in 2004. From 2004 to 2010, Dr. Solomon held responsibilities as a biomedical researcher focusing on molecular genetics and biology at scientific institutions in the USA.
In enhancing her scientific communications qualifications, Nicola Solomon earned a Technical Writing Certificate in 2007. She has since completed an American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) Essential Skills Certificate and is an active member of AMWA and the International Society for Medical Publications Professionals (ISMPP).
