• Removal of mss in existing boxes or in temporary boxes, transport by Pitt Rivers or equivalent van.
• Maintenance of security of material, keeping handling an impact on material to minimum, keeping order of material throughout.
• All material part of the Museum collection is to be handled and packed to avoid any damage or loss
• Some material, particularly in rare books and older books collections is fragile, fragmentary and at risk of loss.
• Some material is large, heavy with fragile structures and surfaces.
