(a student group affiliated with Student Church,
Stellenbosch). I was a worship leader at Student Church, Stellenbosch and Eden (George), and am currently the worship pastor at St Luke's
Redcliffe Gardens. At Outeniqua HS I was the subject leader for Natural
Science (Gr 8). In these positions I have learned to work focused and determined towards a common goal involving a team of diverse people from different cultural backgrounds and nationalities.
At Outeniqua HS I have learned to communicate easily with different
people, in higher and lower positions than my own. I had to contact
parents and teachers from different schools. I have built up enough
communication skills to communicate freely and efficiently with different
types of people from a wide range of cultures, nationalities and backgrounds.
I love music and I have a natural "musical ear." I learn and remember
music quickly and easily. I am also able to arrange music in such a way
that it is easy for people to follow and enjoy. Through my years of experience as a worship leader, my guitar playing skills and vocal ability
has been developed to a point where I can confidently and effectively
lead a team of musicians and a congregation of people into a time of worship. My musical ability, coupled with my communication and
leadership skills makes me good at what I love to do: leading people into a place of worship.
During my time doing Service Year for Christ, at university and Outeniqua HS, as well as at St Luke's, I had to learn to adapt
quickly and efficiently to unforeseen circumstances. Being a very
adaptable person by nature, it was easy for me to learn to do more than
one task at a time, as well as rearranging tasks according to importance. I adapt easily to new and challenging circumstances.
I was the leader of a student group, part of the sound and lighting team, the first aid team and a sport coach. At St Luke's I was the overseer of the AV upgrade we...
