Teacher and Gallery Manager
Young Team Leaders. Malvern Artists' Society, Carbon Black Gallery
From June 2013
As assistant Teacher for Young Team Leaders I had to be flexible and adaptable as we taught at various venues in Country Victoria. I needed to be immediately accessible to students, use high energy teaching techniques and capture students attention quickly to gain their trust and maximize learning opportunities. We use a combination of leadership skills and drama games in this programme.
The Malvern Artists Society demands an organised approach as I am responsible for planning the programme content and course structure. I teach adults and children.
As Gallery Manager for Carbon Black Gallery, I ensured the gallery was immaculately presented. I represented exhibiting artists interests, educated myself about their work and careers, sold art works to the public, organised opening functions, wrote press releases and arts listings for publications. I processed payments. I was responsible for artwork care and gallery security.
