Projects

Oscar's At the Museum television commercial

The Birmingham Museum of Art has a restaurant which relaunched as Oscar's. To advertise it, I wrote the copy for this commercial, and we hired a crew to produce it. The commercial ran on local television in Birmingham Alabama.

BMA Matters video

One of several videos I put together to highlight the programs and values of the Birmingham Museum of Art. Under a minute long, but you get a good sense of the scope of the institution.

Pinterest graphic

I created this little one-off graphic for my Pinterest page, my blog, and several social media sites.

The Iceman from Southern Living

This is an example of a piece I wrote for Southerners, at the time, a regular column in Southern Living magazine.

60th Anniversary Ad for the Birmingham Museum of Art

As director of communications at the Museum, I wrote the copy for this ad which appeared in magazines and elsewhere.

An example of ad copywriting

This is the basis of a mini-campaign celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Birmingham Museum of Art. The painting used in the ad is from the collection: "Gravity's Rainbow", by Odili Donald Odita.

A Short Video About the Birmingham Museum of Art

One of my fun tasks when I was director of communications at the BMA was creating video to help tell the institution's story. This one, running at just a minute, gives a nice glimpse into the museum's interactions with the community.

A Cool Piece about Air Conditioning

In this humorous essay for Southern Living, I talk about a summer necessity in this region.

An Opera House Story from Southern Living

This is a piece I did for Southern Living's Mid-Atlantic Living section when I was an editor there.
