I am consumer/survivor of the mental health and addictions services system and a 4th year student of social work in the BSW program at Ryerson University. My particular area of interest within the field of social work is that of harm-reduction addiction services practised from post-structuralist, deconstructonist, and psychoanalytic theoretical perspective.
From September 2013
The Toronto Community Addiction Team (TCAT) was developed to improve health and social outcomes for people with complex substance use issues. TCAT provides city-wide mobile intensive case management for people with frequent re-admissions to a withdrawal management system and/or Hospital Emergency Departments. Working from a client-centered approach, we encourage respect, empowerment and dignity within a non-judgemental, anti-oppressive framework.
