The position involved significant liaison with state government departments and members of the community. • Research and preparation of a development application for a tourist proposal that includes 10 chalets, café, swimming pool and tennis courts on a 2-hectare site. Approved by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, November 1999.
• Compilation of an Appeal to the Minister for Planning for R & J Lee against the refusal of a second residence in West Swan W.A. (Shire of Swan) - Appeal Upheld by the Minister, March 2000.
• Development Application for a Pottery Studio, Devon Drive, Margaret River for Ian & Beth Dowling - Approved by Shire of Augusta-Margaret River, April 2000. Classified as a "Cottage Industry" under Council's Scheme, the proposal required particular attention to bush fire management and local amenity issues.
• 5 Chalets - Moses Rock, Willyabrup, WA (for Stephan Kruys-Romer, Wilyabrup). A unique proposal involving five chalets located inside the rim of a disused quarry. Due to the chalets being located on the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge, special consideration for visual impacts was required. Approved by the Shire of Busselton May 1998.
• Combined Residential and Holiday Accommodation, Harrison Street, Rockingham (for Guy & Wendy Slingerland, Warnbro, W.A.)
• Background research for the Shire of Collie Town Planning Scheme Review (for Thompson McRobert, Bunbury).

• Submission to the Shire of Busselton in regard to the heritage listing of the Leeuwin Naturaliste Cape area. (for John D'Espeissis).
• Compilation of a scheme amendment to delete the Density Bonus Scheme for the City of Bunbury.
• Subdivision of 150 hectares of land into five lots for viticulture purposes in Eagle Bay. (for John D'Espeissis).
Other duties involved the preparation of scheme amendment documents for the rezoning of land throughout the southwest, submissions on behalf of landowners for subdivision and development, appeals against local government decisions and land development appraisals.
