This role involves taking phone calls, using a computer with its own network system, communicating with managers and working closely with colleagues, working towards the goal of making files compliant. This means I can work being organised and to a deadline. Working in an office environment has meant I have improved my telephone, computer, customer service skills. Working in a team has also improved my team work and communication skills.

From working with the public I gained experience with the public which has improved my communication skills and initiative. Having to work with a team has given me teamwork skills. I know how to function a till and a card machine; also I have experience dealing with money. Having to work with food means I can memorise and infer a menu.

For my work experience I worked in a Nursing home with elderly people with dementia in Ipswich, I really felt I got a lot out of my experiences. My responsibilities were feeding and caring for the elderly, which included playing games and talking to the residents. I also had to work as a team and complete health and safety hazard forms. I had to use good communication skills and patience which I feel I already had. I need to have a positive attitude daily as I was dealing with a possibly sensitive, vulnerable people. I also had experience of using photocopier and fax machine.
