o First contact with victims of Domestic Violence who have experience physical or mental abuse, children and adults
o Investigate crimes motivated by peoples race, sexual orientation, faith or disability e.g. common assault; ABH; GBH; criminal damage and theft.
o Re-house victims fleeing domestic violence by liaising with the local housing authority and victim support and social services and family members.
o Gather forensic evidence; CCTV; witness statements and relevant information to lead to successful prosecution of defendants.
Walworth Police Station

o First contact with victims of Rape and sexual Assault
o Accompany victims to the Haven suite and liaise with the Doctors to ensure the examination is conducted correctly and victim feels safe
o Obtain detailed and chronological statement from victim either written or Visual using the 5 part structure, Advocate - Amount of time, Distance, Visibility, obstruction, known to victim, time elapsed and evidential value
o With a scenes of crime officer - devise a forensic strategy to send exhibits to labs to be examined and to be cost effective
o Conduct case conferences with outside agencies (social services; schools; housing and victim support)
o Manage 20 Rape investigations through to completion on average one month minimum case to a year maximum
o Maintain contact with victim, ensure they are trial prepared by explaining court procedure
o Prepare cases for trial and maintain contact with the crown prosecution until trial date
o Achieving Best Evidence tier 2 for suspects and victims
o Perform first aid and assist until London Ambulance Service arrive

o Respond to emergency 999 calls
o Identify offences at calls and arrest suspects
o Reassure members of the public at major incidents
o Create detailed crime reports for fraud, theft, sexual offences, grievous bodily harm
o Identify witnesses at the scene of stabbing, shooting, shoplifting and other crimes
o Accompany victims of crime to hospital for continuity, take statements, insure safety
o Identify crime scenes and preserve evidence
o Perform first aid and assist until London Ambulance Service arrive to take over
