I am a medical doctor, a public health specialist and a certified fitness trainer. I have over 18 years of experience in clinical and community health setting, medical and health research and capacity building of health and fitness professionals. Besides being an academician and experienced healthcare professional, I pursue fitness and nutrition as a passion and therefore promote evidence based principles of the fitness science among all groups of people through innovative means. I have substantial experience in designing programs in nutrition and fitness for individuals and groups for prevention of lifestyle disorders besides establishing modern and customized fitness solutions for institutions and gyms. I currently manage few large scale projects in various parts of Northern India in the areas of Diabetes, Hypertension and Cervical Cancer, besides leading monitoring and evaluation functions of almost all programs under Population Services International - India. I speak five major Indian languages fluently including Assamese (Native) besides English.

I joined the Community Medicine department of PS Medical College as a Tutor in 2001 while doing post graduate studies in the same department. In 2004, on completion of the MD degree, I was promoted to Assistant Professor and in 2009, I became an Associate Porfessor. SInce 2007, I was also the head of research at the institution.

I set up Central Research Services as a central body for all institutions run by Charutar Arogya Mandal, (the trust managing the Pramukhswamy Medical College) in order to facilitate clinical, epidemiological and socio-behavioural research at different institutions under the trust ( This is the first of its kind of a research facilitation centre in any medical institution in India. I successfully led the initiative to get accreditation for it from Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization in 2009. The most unique feature of this facility is that it has a centralized randomization room for sponsored clinical trials within the teaching hospital, which has attracted several pharmaceuticals and CROs to conduct studies.
I also set up a telemedicine set up (hub and spoke model) at Pramukhswamy Medical College besides several Primary Healthcare Centers in rural, urban and institutional settings managed by Charutar Arogya Mandal (CAM) in Gujarat (2000 - 2007).
I set up a state of the art sports, wellness & fitness centre in 2007 in the same campus.
