Fluent Spanish Speaker
Training and Competence Administrative Assistant
From April 2013
, BP Focus contract WGPSN
- When I joined the BP Focus team, Tar was already in full swing with two out of our five platforms. I
have embraced the fast pace and other challenges of a high volume of delegates to train, and all the challenges that accompany this. I sit next to the Logistics co-ordinator for the project and work closely with the platform co-ordinators, who I communicate with on a daily basis. This has given me a unique
insight into the wider processes surrounding our training aims and objectives, which helps my team to work more effectively and adhere to the core values. I am familiar with all of the key PSN systems such as Access, Documentum and Oracle.
Zara, INDITEX, UK
May 2012 - March 2013
I was sought out by management to head the store's team for the company's latest Corporate Social Responsibility project. I was subsequently
promoted to a full time cashier position and asked to be store Health and Safety delegate. Moving to a
smaller department (kids wear) demanded greater responsibility in more areas of the business. Not
only was I at the front line of sales, but I was also required to engage lateral thinking for finding
creative ways to increase profits. This role involved a high degree of social interaction with a broad
customer base in an extremely busy environment, and relied on excellent communication amongst the team of staff.
International Drinks Company
Sponsored by the company to travel to Madrid, Glasgow and Head Office in Perth for a work
experience placement. Had exposure to and actively participated in all major areas of the business through shadowing executives and working alongside staff in the marketing, commercial, legal and purchasing and planning departments. Took part in global travel retail training sessions in the Madrid
office which gave me a privileged insight into this market, and translated online articles for the marketing department.
English Language Assistant
Secondary School IES Blas Infante
September 2010 - May 2011
- A teaching role which demanded high levels of organisation and communication. Time management
was also crucial due to working within a strict timetable with pupils that were nearing their exams. I
was quickly given responsibility out-with that which was set out in the job description, being left in charge of classes on my own and conducting and marking oral exams.
Spanish Ministry of Education
Website translation of information for teachers about software to be used as a teaching aid.
Routes For All project, Glasgow Caledonian University
A government funded programme which recruited students as mentors for pupils attending schools in deprived areas of Greater Glasgow. The aim was to encourage and help them achieve entry into further education. We ran weekly workshops involving persuasive presentations on University
degrees and editing CVs.
2003 - 2011 Various term-time posts in waitressing and bartending roles throughout my studies,
which helped give me independence and created an early sense of responsibility.
