I am a Community Theatre Practitioner and a recent MA Applied Theatre graduate from The Central School of Speech and Drama, London. My particular interest is encapsulated by 'Theatre through Play', based on my passionate belief that play, and a playful approach, hold benefits that go far beyond a leisure activity or pastime, and that resonate deeply with daily life.
I have experience of facilitating drama workshops in a diverse range of settings, including delivering a play-based project with young women in a rehabilitation programme for street children in Mexico City (May-June 2011); a young fathers' project to produce a children's audiobook (February-April 2011) and a series of workshops with adults who have experienced homelessness (October-December 2010)
I also have 5 years' project and events management experience in a non-for-profit setting, including various BBC departments and Urban Development, a music education agency in Stratford, East London.

Freelance Enterprise Facilitator
Hammersmith & Fulham Education Business Partnership
November 2011 - November 2011
In this role, I run 'Enterprise Days' in primary and secondary schools on behalf of the Education Business Partnership (EBP). These are designed to encourage students to apply a range of skills and knowledge and to develop these further, working in small teams throughout the course of a day to participate in a simulation of a business campaign on a specific theme. They are assisted with a series of structured tasks by volunteers from local businesses, which include L'Oreal, Disney, Coca-Cola and the BBC. The day ends with teams 'pitching' to the volunteers in the format of a rehearsed presentation.
Freelance Event Manager - 'Programmes that don't cost the Earth' event - BBC White City, November 2011
October 2011 - November 2011

My responsibilities included liaising with the BBC team on the event structure and technical requirements - both of which were relatively complex - selecting, recruiting and briefing suppliers and event staff, putting together presentation materials and stage managing the event on the day, as well as holding overall responsibility for all organisational and logistical aspects of the event.
