Business and Enterprise Coach for Land Rover Speake and New Mersey Retail

ict teacher

New Heys Business and Enterprise College

Since 2009 until the present day, I have worked as a fully qualified ICT teacher in South Liverpool schools. Although this job differs from hostessing, I have gained transferable skills that have been used in both workplaces.
Here, I manage challenging groups of students ranging from the ages of eleven to eighteen. In order to be successful within my role it is mandatory to be organized, approachable and a quick thinker with the ability to enforce discipline and respect.
I have led and will continue to lead training sessions based on team building strategies to help share good practice within our departments. I was also fortunate enough to be appointed with the role of Head of Business Coach, whereby I organized many trips to Land Rover in Speake and New Mersey Retail, to help our pupils gain an understanding of the business world.
I would have to create materials with staff at Land Rover and New Mersey Retail that could be used throughout courses. It was always important to dress smartly and represent our school well at such events in order to maintain our excellent reputation.
Teaching also requires you to be able to work effective with staff from various backgrounds and ages, thus allowing the development of inter personal skills. Keeping track of results and ongoing progress is of course a significant aspect of my job which allows the opportunity to look at progression and seek out where progress isn’t being made and action upon this.
Having the ability to deal with parents, sometimes aggressive in their approach and not having English as a first language can be a barrier, yet with the aid of translators and liasing closely with them has enabled such encounters to run smoothly.
It is always vital to keep and build good relationships with parents and outside companies in order to build trust and raise the profile of our school.
