Adams-Gardner - Critical Thinking And Analysis - Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Myrtle Adams-Gardner

Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

My research experience as a learning and development specialist is advance and has developed in search for educational learning perspectives and understanding of how adults participate in learning. In my current role as learning and development specialist my focus on strengthening capacity and capability programmes within the adult learning sector enables me to inculcate adult learners with critical thinking and problem solving skills to build capabilities that will make them employable in society and become a part of a global community of learners. As a subject matter specialist I am able to design and develop learning programmes using online (e-learning), ICT tools or classroom pedagogies and learning. My experience in learning and development has been in designing leadership/management formal and informal programmes as well as managing the implementation of such processes, within budgetary constraints. My skills in analysis, design and development of learning programmes are advanced in learning design. I use blended approaches in an integrated way to meet each learner’s unique learning style, and use design principles (inquiry based learning methods) as a way to incorporate an integrate curriculums with quality teaching methods. I have contributed to successful projects completion and evaluate learning interventions through continuous feedback with learning stakeholders across business processes.

Critical Thinking And Analysis

I aim to encourage interpersonal relatedness and critical thinking among the audiences / learners and to provide them with tools to find answers to issues shaping their career development.

Given the diversity of the learner/employee population in South Africa, I think it’s important to highlight the distinctions between cognitive and emotional learning.
