Successes and accomplishments: Project executed very smoothly. On time and under budget. The business is still happy several months later.

Project: SAS Rebuild and Upgrade Budget: $800,000 Staff: 12 Methodologies: PMI and ENMAX PM Standards. Technologies: SAS proprietary software, MS SQL Server, Oracle, MS Office integration SSL and proprietary SAS encryption of both data on disk and in transit. Clients upgraded to Windows 7. Successes and accomplishments: The project was in turmoil when I took it over. The relationships between the business and the vendor and internal IT were severely strained. The atmosphere is very calm now and the business is pleased with the project progress.

Project: Disability Management Tool Budget: $200,000 Staff: 5 Methodologies: PMI and ENMAX PM Standards. Technologies: PeopleSoft Successes and accomplishments: Project executed very smoothly. On time and $90K under budget. We did an RFI to Oracle, Medgate and Enablon. Final solution was a PeopleSoft ERP custom development.

Project: Exchange Upgrade Budget: $300,000 Staff: 6 Methodologies: PMI and Husky PM Standards. Technologies: Exchange. We completed the design phase during which we did a detailed analysis of Exchange 2007 vs. 2010, archiving and did detailed migration planning.

Project: Major Desktop Upgrade Validation Budget: $40,000 Staff: 4 Methodologies: PMI and AESO PM Standards. Technologies: Windows 7 Enterprise, VMware Successes and accomplishments: Received Board approval for $2M implementation.

Project: Oracle RAC and Enterprise Backup and Recovery Budget: $1.5M
Staff: 8 Methodologies: PMI and AESO PM Standards. Technologies: Networker, RMAN and UNIX scripting, Snap Vault, Snap Mirror, Brocade. Successes and accomplishments: Completed on tight time line to enable Oracle RAC to go to Prod.

Project: Office move Budget: $0.5M Staff: 12 Methodologies: PMI and AESO PM Standards. Technologies: n/a Successes and accomplishments: This was a move between two downtown Calgary buildings of 150 staff. All facilities elements had to be accounted for such as office equipment, meeting rooms, security access, Internet and Intranet, phones, computers. Completed under budget. Was reported as very smooth by the staff.

Project: Storage Upgrade and 5 year Strategy Budget: $5M Staff: 12 Methodologies: PMI and AESO PM Standards. Technologies: NetApp, virtual storage layer. Successes and accomplishments: Detailed analysis and architecture of storage, back up and recovery, disaster recovery, ECM retention and destruction requirements, SLAs and Service Catalogues resulted in a successful RFP to IBM, Net App, EMC and others.

Completed several other $50,000 validation and design projects on such technologies and subjects as BPOS (now called Office 365), Data Center RFI with SOX standards, and Windows 2000 server upgrade.

Contract was renewed three times.
