Detailed current job description
• Developing compliance and enforcement strategy for Forestry National Forest Act 84 of 1998 and National Veld and Forest Fire Act 101 of 1998
• Establish the compliance and enforcement committee between National and Regions office
• Analyse case dockets from the regions and assist with the way forward to presentation to senior state prosecutors in their regions before going to court.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in forestry sector.
• Gather license, fences statistics from the regions and compile to the NFA data for record keeping.
• Assist in chairing national committee meeting of compliance and enforcement committee on quarterly basis which include regions, head office, other law enforcement departments and external agencies of law enforcement.
• Ensure analysis of data for monthly, quarterly reporting linked with license applications; offences within NFA in the Regions.
• Monitoring on implementation and enforcement the NFA (compliance and enforcement strategy) by the Regions
• Assist Regions in resolving unlawful forestry utilization complaints, coordinate site visits inspections, investigations and compliance audits within the Regions.
