Under the Energy Department, Government of Punjab initiated the fast track project to overcome the energy crisis being faced by the country. The proposed Power Plant is a 2 X 660 MW Imported Coal Based Power Plant. Project will utilized the dry coal burning process. The site is located near Yousafwala on the edge of N5 and LBDC. Plant will utilize the coal burning and generate the electricity.

As a part of services, conducted the EIA of the proposed Project. Conducted field surveys including physical, ecological and socio-economic surveys, environmental monitoring, sampling and testing for the subject Project.

Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) as part of the Afghanistan National Development Strategy (ANDS), the Bakshabad (Farah Rud) Multipurpose Dam Project is proposed to be constructed on the Farah Rud River in Farah province which is situated in the Western part of Afghanistan. The Bakshabad (Farah Rud) Multipurpose Dam Project has been undertaken for providing irrigation facilities to about 68,590 hectares of irrigable land and to generate 27MW hydropower to fulfill the requirements of electricity for industrial and domestic purposes. Moreover, the construction of this dam would reduce the likelihood of damages caused by the flood waters providing much needed respite to the downstream area of the proposed dam.

As a part of above mentioned studies as a team leader conducted the EIA and RAP of the subject Project. This includes planning, arranging and supervising the field investigations, stakeholder consultations, assigning the tasks to various experts, technical review of the inputs from each expert; finalize the TOC, finalization of the report etc.

Mohmand Dam Project (previously known as Munda Dam) is located on the Swat River about 37Km north of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, Pakistan. The main objectives of Mohmand Dam are to irrigate the new areas of 6,773 ha, augment the irrigated areas of 79,226 ha, generation of 800 MW electricity and to mitigate the flood damages in these areas.
As a part of above mentioned studies carried out the EIA and RAP of the subject Project. Kurram Tangi Dam is planned dam on the Kurram River in North Waziristan Agency, Pakistan. It will irrigate a command area of 84,380 acres and will have hydro-power generation capacity of 83.4 MW. The dam will also supplement 278,000 acres of existing system of Civil and Marwat Canals. USAID offered funds for the project in January 2013 and construction is slated to begin in March, 2014.

Prepared the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manual as a part of the EMMP and EA for the Client, Supervisory Consultants and the Contractor as an HSE Expert. I Conducted training of the sub-consultant for the collection of baseline data at Peshawar as a resource person. I conducted management and technical coordination in the absence of the Project Manager. Managed the on-site environmental monitoring and testing through a third party.

As team leader carried out Rapid Environmental Screening and Preliminary Environmental Assessment of identified construction material quarry sites in AJK. As per TOR, the objectives of the study are to carry out screening of the identified material quarry sites in AJK and surrounding areas in view of major environmental impacts on the existing settings of physical, ecological and social parameters due to the development of these sites. Hence, the identified sites with major adverse impacts will be screened out at an early stage of the Project.

The sites, which are found to be geologically, environmentally and economically feasible during the screening process, PEA (if required) will be carried out for the development of quarry area keeping in view the Quarry Development Plans (QDPs) and other activities of those sites. This will ensure that when the identified quarry site are developed and becomes operational all the environmental impacts, which are likely to arise due to development and operation, are taken care and damage and vulnerability to the environment can be minimized.

The installed Combined Cycle Power Plant (Gas Turbine of GE, USA & Steam Turbine of Fuji, Japan) has a gross output of 202 MW. It employs modern technology under strict international and environment friendly standards. The fuel source, from Mari Deep Well No. 6, has low BTU gas, which is otherwise unsuitable for domestic and industrial uses. By the Grace of Almighty Allah, the plant is fully operational since May 2011 and contributing 178MW electricity to the National Grid at comparatively lower cost than other IPPs. This output is sufficient to illuminate 250,000 urban homes, or meet the needs of 70 medium sized industrial units, or 1,500 small sized villages.

Project was awarded to NESPAK due to my personnel efforts. Prepared the proposal and work was awarded to NESPAK. As a Group Leader manage the assignment including coordination with the Client, selection of monitoring points, at site supervision of monitoring activities, preparation and finalization of monitoring report and presentation to the Client.

Detailed Engineering Design of Irrigation/Drainage System in Gambella, Federal Democratic Republic o

Scope includes carrying out surveys in the field and preparing Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (E & SIA) Report. Review of all existing studies, reports and data. Delineate the Study Area (Area of Influence) and collection of baseline data related to physical, ecological and socio-economic environmental parameters; Carryout Stakeholder consultations; Identification, evaluation and categorization of the adverse impacts on the physical, ecological and social environment during the construction and operational stages of the proposed Project; Identification of appropriate mitigation measures for the significant negative impacts; Study of Project Alternatives; Preparation of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) including environmental cost.

As a part of the EIA study conducted the assessment of Project impacts on the wetland and swamps of the area. In the light of Ramsar convention developed wetland and swamps criteria and classify the wetland and swamps. Draft Report is complete and submitted to the Project Manager for subsequent submission to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MOARD). Report is approved by MOARD.

Feasibility Study of HVDC/HVAC 1300 Km long Transmission Line from Karachi to Up-country for Dispers

I am working as a Team Leader for the Environmental and Resettlement Studies of 1300 Km Transmission Line, NTDC. Based on the local and Asian Development Bank (ADB) requirements Initial Poverty and Social Assessment (IPSA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Land Acquisition and Resettlement Plan (LARP) were required for this mega Project. I prepared environmental part of Inception Report and Conceptual Report. Stand alone Report of Initial Poverty and Social Assessment (IPSA), Land Acquisition and Resettlement Framework (LARF) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports. These are submitted to NTDC for approval.

Environmental Monitoring of Foundation Power Complex Daharki (Pvt.) Limited

The installed Combined Cycle Power Plant (Gas Turbine of GE, USA & Steam Turbine of Fuji, Japan) has a gross output of 202 MW. It employs modern technology under strict international and environment friendly standards. The fuel source, from Mari Deep Well No. 6, has low BTU gas, which is otherwise unsuitable for domestic and industrial uses. By the Grace of Almighty Allah, the plant is fully operational since May 2011 and contributing 178MW electricity to the National Grid at comparatively lower cost than other IPPs. This output is sufficient to illuminate 250,000 urban homes, or meet the needs of 70 medium sized industrial units, or 1,500 small sized villages.

Project was awarded to NESPAK due to my personnel efforts. Prepared the proposal and work was awarded to NESPAK. As a Group Leader manage the assignment including coordination with the Client, selection of monitoring points, at site supervision of monitoring activities, preparation and finalization of monitoring report and presentation to the Client.

Environmental Assessment (EA) of Kurram Tangi Dam Project

Kurram Tangi Dam is planned dam on the Kurram River in North Waziristan Agency, Pakistan. It will irrigate a command area of 84,380 acres and will have hydro-power generation capacity of 83.4 MW. The dam will also supplement 278,000 acres of existing system of Civil and Marwat Canals. USAID offered funds for the project in January 2013 and construction is slated to begin in March, 2014.

Prepared the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manual as a part of the EMMP and EA for the Client, Supervisory Consultants and the Contractor as an HSE Expert. I Conducted training of the sub-consultant for the collection of baseline data at Peshawar as a resource person. I conducted management and technical coordination in the absence of the Project Manager. Managed the on-site environmental monitoring and testing through a third party.

Review of Feasibility, Detailed Design and Tender Documents of Mohmand Dam Project

Mohmand Dam Project (previously known as Munda Dam) is located on the Swat River about 37Km north of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, Pakistan. The main objectives of Mohmand Dam are to irrigate the new areas of 6,773 ha, augment the irrigated areas of 79,226 ha, generation of 800 MW electricity and to mitigate the flood damages in these areas.
As a part of above mentioned studies carried out the EIA and RAP of the subject Project. This includes planning, arranging and supervising the field investigations, stakeholder consultations, assigning the tasks to various experts, technical review of the inputs from each expert; finalize the TOC of EIA, finalization of the EIA cost etc.

Review of Feasibility, Detailed Design and Tender Documents of Farah Rud Irrigation Project, Afghani

Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) as part of the Afghanistan National Development Strategy (ANDS), the Bakshabad (Farah Rud) Multipurpose Dam Project is proposed to be constructed on the Farah Rud River in Farah province which is situated in the Western part of Afghanistan. The Bakshabad (Farah Rud) Multipurpose Dam Project has been undertaken for providing irrigation facilities to about 68,590 hectares of irrigable land and to generate 27MW hydropower to fulfill the requirements of electricity for industrial and domestic purposes. Moreover, the construction of this dam would reduce the likelihood of damages caused by the flood waters providing much needed respite to the downstream area of the proposed dam.

EIA of 2 X 660 MW Imported Coal Based Power Plant near Sahiwal.

Under the Energy Department, Government of Punjab initiated the fast track project to overcome the energy crisis being faced by the country. The proposed Power Plant is a 2 X 660 MW Imported Coal Based Power Plant. Project will utilized the dry coal burning process. The site is located near Yousafwala on the edge of N5 and LBDC. Plant will utilize the coal burning and generate the electricity.

As a part of services, conducted the EIA of the proposed Project. Conducted field surveys including physical, ecological and socio-economic surveys, environmental monitoring, sampling and testing for the subject Project.
