My extra-curricular achievements speak volumes for my ability. I won gold medal in the 100 meters race in 2001; secured Bronze medal in the 100 meters rally race in 2001; was a member and the top scorer of my class football team; was declared the student of the month twice for my responsibility and academic achievement. I was also the recipient of student of the merit scholarship which is awarded in recognition of outstanding academic ability and achievement, thrice. Over the years what amazed my teachers was the balance I was able to maintain between academics and other activities.
I have knowledge of SAP and Sage Line 50. In addition to that I am working on different accounting soft-wares including QuickBooks and Tally 9 to enhance my resume.
April 2013 - July 2013
I was inducted as a finance internee to the finance department. Initially I was responsible for organising and filing all the paper work of the company. During my internship period I mostly worked with the accounts payable department of the company. Later on in the internship period I also worked with other departments of the finance. They gave me an overview of how the business works.
My responsibilities included dealing with the supplier’s inquiries over the phone, making cheques for the suppliers, both manually and on the SAP accounting software and getting them signed by CFO of the company for the approval of payments. In addition I was also responsible to get them by suppliers of acknowledgement.
One of my responsibilities was to audit and enter monthly employee returns on Human Resource Information System (HRIS). The ERs were basically to do with the employee benefits and different reimbursements to the employee and I had to make sure the figures are right and the employees are entitled to the benefit claimed.
I have also done Bank Reconciliation.
Finally I was also trained to prepare monthly Vendor Tax Return under the supervision of senior accountant and was also responsible for submitting it on the official website of the tax authority.
At the end of my internship period I was given an overview of the SAP.
