Development Finance

The Experience of Bangladesh

The thesis investigated both domestic and foreign finance necessary for development of Bangladesh economy. It examined the revenue mobilization effort, foreign capital inflow and its utilization, and role of financial system to meet the huge development requirements of fragile post independent economy of Bangladesh. It applied time series regression analysis and was based on secondary data.

The output of the thesis was consecutively published in three issues of 'the Journal of Modern Society and Culture', Niigata University, Niigata Japan, ISSN: 1345-8485 as three separate articles entitled "Revenue Mobilization and Development Finance in Bangladesh", "Foreign Capital in Development Finance: The Experience of Bangladesh", and "Financial System in Development Finance: A Case Study of Bangladesh respectively.

2. Teaching

I had started my teaching career at Bangladesh Rifle's College, Dhaka, Bangladesh in November 1994 just after the completion of my master degree from Aligarh Muslim University, India and returning home from there in August 1994. However soon I left this institute and in January 1995 joined Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh its being a place of growing international interest especially of OIC. Later I moved to Khulna University in May 2003 with the aspiration of greater teaching and research environment. Very recently (20th January 2013) I have joined Southeast University, a leading private sector university in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where I am entrusted with the pioneering role of launching a new program 'Master of Development Studies". During my 19 years of teaching, I have taught many courses at different public and private universities in Bangladesh and India.
