Mountain Climber

I come from Leadville, Colorado, the highest incorporated city in America, sitting at 10200 feet above sea level. That's almost two miles. I spent my time hanging out in the woods and climber 14er's (14,000 foot peaks). I didn't really get into it until my junior year of high school. As far as my skill in the mountains go...
I can, and I have.

Read a map to find my location in the wilderness off trail.
Carried food and camping equipment for miles on end up and down steep slopes. and often above tree line
Set up camp and cook for others and myself
Led groups of students out into the wilderness.

This may seem very basic, and it is. But if you screw up in the backcountry things can and usually do go wrong very fast. From my time mountain climbing I have really only learned one thing. Keep yourself safe and under control and then help people. You are of no help to anybody if your a mess.

Because of this I try to keep my stuff together so I can be ready at any point to help a friend out.

Work History

This seems self explanatory. I'm trying to get through college. I'm currently a freshman at St. John's College. I'm not one of those students that just sticks to themselves and hang out in a small group. I am all over the campus, talking with people, involved in groups and organizations, working with the College Events Office.

So, Social person

as far as groups goes, I'm in Blues dance. the local community service group, and Atalaya Search & Rescue

And College events takes care of everything from campus wide parties to the weekly lecture.

That is college.
