Mount Kenya University is a new but growing private institution of higher learning in Kenya. I was recruited to lecture and supervise MBA research. My job was on part-time basis as I was still working full-time at the Coca-Cola Company. I took the lecturing job as a preparation for my teaching career which I am now ready to launch fully while in USA. In Mount
Kenya University, the courses I lectured were new and had no curriculum developed for teaching them. My
responsibilities were therefore to develop the course outlines, teaching materials and reading references. These I
presented to the university for approval before the commencement of the semester. Upon approval, I taught the courses,
set examinations and assignments. Marking and submission of grades was my final task to conclude the semester. My
field of teaching was in business management where I specialized in lecturing Industrial marketing, Strategic
management, Effects of State policies on the Economy and supervision of MBA theses.
General Sales Manager
October 2001 - March 2013
I worked with the Coca-Cola Company based at Rift valley Bottlers. The Company produces and sells the wide range of
Coca-Cola brands. My responsibility as a General Sales Manager was to lead a sales team of 120 people to achieve
sales targets in the designated regions of Rift Valley, Western Kenya and Southern Sudan. I offered effective leadership to achieve annual sales targets set by the company for the 11 years of my service. My success was a result of careful
planning, team coaching and willingness to learn. I won awards through competitions between Coca-Cola bottling
partners in Kenya. Rewards in these competitions were based on attainment of sales targets. Through theses awards I
managed to earn incentives for my team which included sponsorship to the Fifa World Cup tournaments in South Korea
2002, Germany 2006, and South Africa 2010. My team was highly motivated and the rewards fired higher performance.

Creameries Nairobi, Kenya
Kenya Co-operative Creameries is a household name in the dairy industry in Kenya. My responsibility as a Marketing
Manager was to develop effective marketing strategies to sell the products and make profit for the company. I achieved
tremendous results through designing innovative marketing mix that maximized the satisfaction of our customers while at the same time maximizing company profits. This I achieved by effective distribution plans, attractive packaging, wide
range of product offerings, and affordable pricing strategies.
