temporary retail assistant through the busy Christmas season
Clinton's Card Company
December 2012 - January 2013
This was a customer facing role where I was serving customers, using a cash register, re-stocking shelves and assisting customers in finding the right product for their needs. I was working as part of a team but was expected to work on my own initiative. This position has now finished.
• I have worked part time at the International Centre as a silver serving waitress. My duties included polishing cutlery, serving food/drinks and cleaning the kitchen. The main focus of this role was to serve members of the public ensuring they received hot food. I was working within a team; this was a customer facing roll. This required me to have excellent personal hygiene, to conversate with many and have good time management.
• I have experience working within a Telesales company after completing a six months temporary contract with a Double Glazing Window and Door fitting company. I was responsible for booking appointments with clients via the telephone. This required me to have a well-spoken telephone manner and to use listening skills. I was in charge of keeping records for client appointments, liaising with sales staff to ensure customer satisfaction and was constantly working towards targets. I left the company to start a full time college
• I have worked part-time in an exotic plant shop in Shrewsbury where I was selling garden equipment, stacking shelves and bringing in stock from the stock room. This was a customer facing role. This was helping out a family friend, but was fantastic work experience.
• Whilst at secondary school in 2010, I spent 2 weeks in a childcare Centre as part of work experience where I had to look after young children, clean up, prepare food and organize schedules.
I am available for work at short notice and am willing to travel.
