A superior student at Philadelphia’s Drexel University, Mohsin Khawaja studied finance and operations management, earning a 3.9 grade point average (GPA) out of a possible 4.0. For his outstanding academic performance, he was awarded the William G. McGowan Scholarship and the Boeing Achievement Award. Mohsin Khawaja graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in commerce and engineering.
After he graduated, Mohsin Khawaja joined the international professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, working in the firm’s Philadelphia offices as a risk assurance associate. He assessed the effectiveness of clients’ internal controls for the purpose of optimizing those controls and more tightly controlling risk. He also devised a model of linear programming designed to reduce budgeted hours and increase efficiencies, thus reducing costs.
In the fall of 2009, Mohsin Khawaja left PricewaterhouseCoopers to accept a position as an industrial engineer with Custom Research Equipment, located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He built on his earlier work with internal controls to create a system that more closely monitors the firm’s inventory. Khawaja also developed a system that improved the visibility of the firm’s compliance issues.
Dedicated to enhancing his professional credentials, Mohsin Khawaja is currently studying to earn designation as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He belongs to several professional associations, including the Association for Financial Professionals and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. Multilingual, Khawaja is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, as well as English. He also has a conversational mastery of Spanish.
