Born on July 22, 1954, Professor Mubarak received his B.Sc. degree in chemistry from The University of Jordan in 1976 and his M. Sc. degree in chemistry from the same university in 1978. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA in 1982 under the supervision of Prof. Dennis G. Peters. He served as a postdoctoral fellow between Oct. 1982 and June 1983 at Oklahoma University, USA with Prof. Glenn Dryhurst. Dr. Mubarak began his academic career at King Saud University, Abha, Saudi Arabia, in 1983 as an assistant professor and then as an associated professor and joined the University of Jordan in 1993. While at The University of Jordan, Prof. Mubarak served as the Chairman of the department of chemistry between Sept. 2008 and Dec. 2009 and as the Vice dean of the faculty of science since Dec.6, 2009. In addition, Prof. Mubarak has also served as an Academic Consultant and Vice Dean of the Al-Ghad International College of Health Sciences, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from Sept. 10, 2011 to Sept.10, 2012.Moreover, prof. Mubarak is an Adjunct Prof. of Chemistry at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA since 2009. He is the author and coauthor of more than 120 research papers and has supervised and co-supervised 37 theses and dissertations.
Professor Mubarak’s research program is broadly based on synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry, especially the synthesis of compounds with expected biological activity. In addition, Prof. Mubarak’s work involve
