Professor

Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences to University of Tehran

In1998 I was transferred from Gorgan University of Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences to University of Tehran (named the Mother University of Iran). Since 1998 to present I have been lecturing Forage Crops Production and Range Management courses at undergraduate level, Crops Ecophysiology at M.S. Level, Seed Ecology and Organic Farming courses at PhD level. Most of my research activities have been involved with ecological aspects of forage crops production as well as allelopathic and cold resistance in chickpea (see list of publications).

Agriculture /Gorgan University of Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences

Lecturing in College of Agriculture /Gorgan University of Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences, at the level of undergraduate and graduate level (MS) in the fields of Forage Crops Production (BS), Advances in Agronomy (MS) and Crop Ecology (MS). Besides lecturing I supervised MS thesis as well as conducting several research works on forage crops.

with grazing animals as well as plant population dynamics under different gazing managements (1991-1994). During this period the following projects have been conducted by me:
1. Spring grazing management of annual medic pasture to optimize the productivity of herbage and seed production (1991).
2. Evaluation of hardseededness breakdown of annual medic pods under different grazing managements (1991).
3. Summer grazing management of medic pasture to optimize medic pod consumption and ensure pasture re-establishment (1992).
4. Impact of stocking intensity and grazing period on plant morphological characteristics, seed production, phenology and growth pattern of medic pastures (1992).
5. Impact of autumn deferred grazing on growth, botanical composition and sheep body weight gain on medic pasture (1993).
6. Ryegrass and barelygrass population dynamics and soil physical characteristics under deferred and continuous grazing management of annual medic pasture (1993).
7. Impact of defoliation intensity and sowing rate on herbage production, flowering characteristics, and seed production of annual medic pasture (1994).
8. Impact of total forage availability and height of the pasture on intake rate of sheep grazing on medic pasture (1994).

(b) Attended and delivered a paper at the 7th Australian Agronomy Conference, Adelaide, Australia, September 1993.

and four other research institutions from Ministry of Agriculture, which obtained three year, Agricultural Research funding for a project entitled "Identification and Seed Production of Native Annual Medics in north- eastern region of Iran" (1983-86).

Agricultural Potentials

From February 1983

Agriculture/Gorgan University of Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences

Lecturing at College of Agriculture/Gorgan University of Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the level of undergraduate degree in the fields of Pasture Production, Dryland Farming Systems, Soil Science and Range Management. Besides lecturing to regular undergraduate students at the college and supervising student projects, I conducted the following special activities:
(1) Developing a course in "Seed Production Systems of Range Species" for external students from Ministry of Jihad of Construction (1990)

Manager of Abazar Agro-Industry Farm

supervising a team of 60 farm workers and 2 technicians for the production of cereals, grain legumes, potatoes and orchard crops.

Research Fellow

Department of Agronomy, Oklahoma State University

(USA), while working on MS project. My research duties were mainly in the field of pasture and range species breeding and development.
Work conducted for MS thesis was concerned with sudangrass-legume rotation, particularly the transfer of nitrogen from the legume to the following sudangrass in rotation.

1976-1977

Employed as Research Assistant, Department of Agronomy, University of Tehran (Iran), while studying at B. S level. Research was in the fields of grain legume and oil seed crops production and plant- climate relationships (1973-76).

Awarded a scholarship from the International Student Exchange Program (FAO) to participate in Agronomic Research programs at the Swiss Federal Research Station of Agriculture in Zurich. Most of the research was concerned with the evaluation, agronomy and breeding of wheat and maize varieties in the context of a cereal-pasture rotation (1974).
