Company is a Sawmill which manufactures Coffins & Caskets for UK distribution.

Employed in the Solid Set Department. Main task is to operate the wood panel press which produces lids, bottoms, sides & ends for coffins.

Also trained to use edging saw, sander, planer, tongue & groove spindle and cross-cut saw.

Job involves lots of manual handling of products to and from areas & on/off machines. Pump-up trolleys are used to move stacks of wood requiring good Health & Safety awareness.

Producing petrol pumps for filling station forecourts in the UK & Europe.

Employed on Main Assembly Line. Also worked in Sub-Assembly Cells.

Sub-Assembly work mainly assembling parts to go into pumps. Mostly mechanical assembly.

Main Assembly Line involved fitting parts to Pump frames & wiring the cables to the junction boxes by following a drawing.

HMS Exeter, Toured Gulf Region

as part of Desert Storm. I was awarded Medals for all 3 trips.

Weapons Engineering Mechanic

December 1985 - October 1991

HMS Raleigh, Initial Basic Training - Including fitness, learning Navy Life, Teamwork, Fire Fighting, Damage Control, First Aid.

HMS Collingwood, Weapons Engineering Mechanic.
HMS Gloucester, Worked on all the ships main weapons and radar systems, maintained pistols, machine guns, anti-aircraft guns. Involved maintenance checks, testing, refits. Two tours in the Gulf Region during Iran/Iraq conflict.
