As Operations Manager and Founder at Elevate Online, I set up the business systems and document procedures as well as dealing with all technical, operations and systems aspects of delivering the service.

Elevate Online works with select local and national businesses around New Zealand to identify business growth goals and ideal customers and then optimises their online identity to attract online visitors and and turn them into clients.

Elevate Online is looking for further customers who are looking to become leaders in their business niche locally or nationally, who can scale service or product delivery rapidly and who have a high customer value.

The Product Owner acts as the bidirectional link between Product Management and the Development team.

This role works closely with the Head of Product to understand requirements and document those requirements in a standard format (design and specification) that is readily understood and 100% actionable by the Development team.

The Product Owner is also required to support the management and delivery of these projects to ensure that requirements end up specified and delivered on time and on budget as defined within the Product Roadmap.

Specifically the role is responsible for

•Scoping and defining requirements (in conjunction with the Head of Product)
•Creating design and specification documents

During my three month contract at DWE, I worked on a range of Intranet projects. My main project involved supplying an internal customer, the Branding and Communications department, with a functional specification for a staff training portal. In addition I analysed the system capability of the Oracle UCM- and WCI-based Intranet site and wrote a functional specification with the goal of streamlining Intranet development while cutting costs. The specification served as the basis for an RFI, which I managed up to the point of vendor evaluation and selection, in collaboration with the Lead Analyst and the Chief Information Officer.

As a self-employed IT Consultant I worked for a number of businesses in the solar technology industry and in print and publishing.

My roles within this work ranged from business development manager, working with small businesses to implement organisational systems and procedures.

As part of a small team of freelancers on Organic Design, I worked to develop specifications for documentation systems and helped implement such systems.

This entailed anything from front-line IT support tasks, setting up network and software components, through documenting procedures and developing training material to client communications and on-site training sessions.

During my years at Organic Design, I have been involved in the development of Knowledge Management and documentation frameworks based on employee collaboration, have co-authored papers on integrating Systems Thinking and stakeholder involvement in open and networked Project Management frameworks. Being part of a team of freelance specialists, I have learned to think like an entrepreneur while working within a closely-knit team

A resource I bring to any position is my extensive international network of specialists developed during this time, ranging from software developers to business analysts, IT managers, researchers and through to entrepreneurs. Whenever I am faced with tough challenges and have exhausted my personal knowledge or ability, I can bring the bring the considerable brain power of this “think-tank”, developed through years of close collaboration across a number of disciplines, to bear on the problem for swift resolution.

Business Analysis is a skill-set I developed through mapping organisational processes with SME clients for implementation within online knowledge management systems. I am equally skilled at communicating the needs of the client to software developers as I am at communicating the limitations of the system to the client in order to manage expectations, resulting in full buy-in from both developers and clients on the projects I have managed.

Knowledge Management is my passion and through years of hands-on experience and close working relationships with a team of software developers and researchers, I have become fluent in a number of high-level concepts and their relationship to knowledge management frameworks, such as Systems Thinking, Collaborative Content Development, Web 3.0 and inter-organisation collaboration and data exchange.

This has resulted in renewed interest in his work through new and existing art collector contacts.

I made a video showcasing the design of my client YBe fashion design. The video is linking back to the website and was created using professional fashion photography as the basis for the video.

Liquid Gold Halo Moon Party Website

In June 2012, I helped my client advertise ticket sales and post event info, including photos to share and pages promoting the performers after the event.

We went from zero to 2000 hits in three weeks, using the email list of my client and sharing updates on social media.

We sold 70 tickets within a week of getting the website up and the event was a full success.
