I have spent many years in the scaffolding and formwork industry as well as builders plant and equipment hire and sales. I have knowledge of Sika construction and marine. I am currently employed as a branch manager at SGB Cape heading up the encapsulation division .

Started and headed up the encapsulation division. Contracts completed at Kusile Power Station, Kriel Power Station, Cape Town Harbor, Sasol 1, 2 & 3.

Creates and maintains procedures for implementing plans approved by the board of directors.
Creating annual operating plans that support strategic direction set by the board and correlate with annual operating budgets; submits annual plans to the board for approval
Collaborate with the board to define and articulate the organization's vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision
Develop and monitor strategies for ensuring the long-term financial viability of the organization

2. Management
Recruit and manage the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations
Oversee the operations of organization and manages its compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Create and maintain procedures for implementing plans approved by the board of directors
Ensure that staff and board have sufficient and up-to-date information.
Evaluate the organization's and the staff's performance on a regular basis onshore and offshore.
3. Financial management
Oversee staff in developing annual budgets that support operating plans and submit budgets for board approval
Manage the organization's resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations
Ensures that staff practices all appropriate accounting procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Provide thorough, and accurate information to keep the board appropriately informed of the organization's financial position
Annual turnover of +_ 24 million.
4. HR management

Recruitment and contracting of company and project staff;
Employee development, and training;
Policy development and documentation;
Employee relations;
Performance management and improvement systems;
Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting;

Responsible for entire scaffolding division including
Administration, staff, procurement of equipment, sales and growth of business and marketing.

Handle turnover of approx 7 - 9 million per annum.

Scaffold Services was bought out by Nkunzi Scaffolding and plant Hire part of Nkunzi Holdings. Head office in Knysna placed in liquidation March 2011 forcing closure of Cape Town branch.

Set up new business in the builders plant hire industry including a hardware division. In charge of entire business function as well as staff and growing of the business. This company was based on a one stop shop for building contractors where they could obtain builders plant, scaffolding as well as hardware supplies for their daily tasks. This concept was borne out of Knysna Equipment Hire which gained huge success with the concept during the building boom in the area from 1999 - 2008

Shares sold to partner and moved on to Scaffold Services.

Duties included:
Plant Hire and scaffolding, calling on existing clients and prospective. Taking care of the bigger clients on large projects. Building up sales division, daily income schedules, monthly invoicing, client liaison etc.
Managing hardware division as well as specialized construction solutions in concrete repair and waterproofing. Power Tools, fixing systems, construction solutions, Sika, ABE, and Den Braven.
Left to relocate Cape Town.

Overseeing purchasing of steel from ISCOR, and other suppliers, overseeing and managing staff, Maintaining client relations, Management Reports, presentations. Company was bought out by Group 5 where I went on as a director. Company was later closed due to economy restraints by larger steel merchants.

Thor steel was sold to Group 5. I retained position as MD. The division was later dissolved.

Buyer and Factory coordinator in manufacturing of steel scaffold and formwork

FASCO/SFM/Forest Fencing

Started as Hire Controller, Contracts Division, Buyer and Factory coordinator in manufacturing of steel scaffold and formwork.
Duties included establishing steel quantities for manufacture of orders
Purchasing, staff management, maintaining stock and equipment, overseeing purchasing account. Thor Steel as established during this period to supply the factory with steel and slowly grew into a formidable business.
Forest Fencing. Production manager in mini mill as well as site co-ordination

Moved into the position of Director at Thor Steel.

I take my career seriously and thrive on challenges faced in business. I have strong negotiating skills, customer service orientated and goal orientated.
I am a goal driven individual who strives for success in all the tasks which I take on. Being a solution based individual I strive to come up with solutions and reach targets by using my progressive and lateral type of thinking. I have worked in procurement related to hardware sales and the manufacturing requirements of large factories for the manufacture of formwork and scaffolding as well as being actively involved on site for the scaffolding and formwork requirements.
Further to this I have strong people skills. Whilst working alongside all levels of employees I am also able to take charge and lead from the front.
I bring with me to the position vast experience and knowledge, as well as my excellent management skills and ability to reach targets set out by the company.
