Gardner - Training Specialist - Birmingham, UK

Mike Gardner

Birmingham, UK

Summary

Mike Gardner who has over 20 years experience in the training and development industry and owns Birmingham based Callowbrook Training Associates.

Holding a M.Ed. in Education, Training & Development from Sheffield University, Mike is a professionally qualified and experienced Training consultant, Speaker and Author with knowledge and skills in all aspects of individual, team and organisational development.

Mike believes that every person regardless of background has the ability to be someone, but to do this they have to discover and enhance their natural abilities, when this is achieved they are then in a position to maximise potential.

Mike is keenly interested in all aspects of people development and particularly from an inter-cultural perspective. To pursue this interest Mike has travelled and worked in a number of countries within Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East. His study on national culture and its effect on learning styles gained him a distinction at the end of his Masters Degree, a study he hopes to upgrade as he works towards obtaining a PhD.

His knowledge and skills have enabled him to work with organisations such as, British Aerospace, British Airways, London Electricity and DHL Worldwide Express. This experience allows Mike to provide information from a practical stance, taking the issues of organisations and individuals and discovering how the theories can be applied in practice.

Although having a wide experience with large blue chip organisations, Mike also has a great interest in working with smaller organisations, in particular helping them set up Human Resource systems that allow them to recruit, retain and develop the right sort of employees for their particular organisation. Mike recently worked with 50 organisations over a two-year period to devise a toolkit to achieve the above; the toolkit is now being developed into a CD Rom and will be sold on the open market shortly.
