My duties entailed a hand's on involvement and acceptance of contractor's progress and work performed on both existing plant and phase 2 of the project. A member of the commissioning and handover team ensuring a safe and working plant conforming to client specifications and quality
The project consisted of a ship offloading 6km conveyor line with 3 transfer stations, Mcc's, VSD's and E&I equipment affiliated to such a system

Electrical Superintendent (Power House)
My position on the project involved the supervision of construction and handover assistance with commissioning of a Power Plant consisting of three Siemens 45Mw steam generated turbines, coal conveyors, ESP units, Transformers, sub stations, 11kV, 6.6kV, 675v, 400v affiliated switchgear, plus general construction of cable racking, cable pulling, small power installations and fire detection in various zoned areas
I was also involved in the procurement of materials so as to meet scheduled programme completion dates

Underground reticulation of eight x11kV/400v Mini-Subs from two 11kV
Overhead lines feeding the mine housing and construction site accommodation, of which the wiring of the premises was also included in the contract

The contract entailed the installation of equipment such as conveyors, thickeners,
motors, transformers, mcc's etc and associated equipment. After inspection and
Data pack acceptance, energising and rotation checks the system was then handed over to the commissioning dept, all work carried out under the permit to work
The construction and commissioning of E & I equipment that was dismantled and shipped from Indonesia to Guinea. The equipment in question included
all aspects of electrical installations required to put the mine into production such as 11kV O/H & U/G reticulation, transformers, switchgear, Mcc's and erection of racking, cabling etc
M&R Eng Solutions
The project involved the upgrade of the busbar output to 352kA with forced air
cooling. My duties are to supervise/ commission and make sure a fast track job
is kept on line to make scheduled dates and quality requirements. Forty eight
37kW fans fed from 4 Mcc's are required to keep the temperature at an operating value
M & R Eng Solutions
My duties entailed the supervision and Pre Commissioning of the E&I Installation pertaining to modifications of Paper Machine 1.This involved replacement of over 350 various size drives, 2x11kV Transformers and 5 off ABB Mcc's with Insum Control. A new Lime Kiln installation was also under my control as well as systems handovers, data packs, as builts etc. to the client.

systems procedure with all documentation such as As Builts, Data packs and signed off punch lists
All construction adhering to site safety and environmental procedures stipulated by management and client
My duties involved the switching of 11kV and 400v construction/ permanent
power on O/H lines and mini subs. The job entailed the transfer of a construction
Mini-sub ring to permanent power by the energising of an 11kV consumer
Substation with twin feeders to six substations site wide.
The plant consisted of conveyors, ball mills, stacker reclaimers, crushers
Thickeners, MCCs, cable racking and cables etc, of which I co-ordinated with the
E & I contractor to sign off to the client via data packs, blue and green tag tagging and red line drawings.
Greenfields/Brownfields platinum ore separation plant of eight 6.6.kV/525V
feeders and 198 various size drives, cable racks and cabling associated to conveyors, vibro feeders, thickener tanks, crushers and flotation plants fed from two
new and four existing substations.
We adhered to the permit to work system and acceptance of data packs and redlined
drawings from the contractors for handover to the client.
Inspection of contractors' work in the Carbon Area which consisted of Bake and
Induction furnaces, Roller and Belt conveyors, Transfer and Handling cranes,
Dedusting units, Recycle silos and various other anode handling equipment.
Hands-on acceptance of electrical equipment, QC dossiers, As-Builts, mechanical
completion certificates, green tag and blue tag involvement up to practical
completion and handover to client
