BFI Canada

Coordinated all outgoing shipments from site to various landfills and processing facilities using multiple
transport companies (internal and external)
• Oversaw production activities of all plant personnel (6-8 employees) for the processing of all incoming loads for offsite shipment to approved destinations
• Ensured process flow requirements were followed to maximize profitability of site by recovering materials for lower cost disposal options (i.e. cardboard, wood, scrap metals)
• Managed all preventive maintenance and equipment inspection schedules for compacting/baling systems and mobile equipment (front end loader, skid steer and forklift)
• Involved with District Health and Safety Manager in establishing corporate health and safety program
including establishment of Joint Health and Safety Committee

Managed cylinder filling and loading activities (20 employees) for the Linde Canada specialty gas filling plant in Whitby as well as the refrigerant filling plant located in Aurora (4 employees)
• Obtained Establishment License from Health Canada in June 2007 for the filling of lung diffusion mixtures
• Maintained ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 (medical devices) certificates from Lloyd's Registrar by following all established guidelines and audit recommendations
• Oversaw all aspects of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) for compliance purposes
• Tracked and trended all NCRs as part of corporate KPI target
• Utilized SAP for the scheduling of filling, shipping, and procurement activities
• Responsible for the submission of applications for both import and export licenses to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission for deuterium procurement and shipping


Air Liquide Canada

Managed cylinder filling and loading activities (over 35 employees) for the industrial and specialty gas filling plants
• Reduced cylinder backorder rate from 15% in 2000 to less than 3% in 2006 by maintaining necessary inventory targets and filling schedules
• Established more efficient use of resources by evenly distributing staffing over 3 shifts and return of empty cylinders to facility for filling requirements
• Improved efficiency of operation by reducing cost per cubic meter filled ($0.47 in 2000 to $0.34 for 2006) and individual employee throughput by 50% over the same period
• Maintained ISO 9001:2000 certificate from QMI Agency by ensuring compliance to all established guidelines
including audits, NCRs, and management reviews


Safety-Kleen Canada Ltd

• Managed overall daily activities at facility (over 30 employees)
• Responsible for all incoming waste analysis to ensure MOE Certificate of Approval restrictions
