I have been involved in martial arts for over 30 years. I began my training in Shoto Kan Karate and reached the rank of 3rd Dan. My primary art is Tien Hu Ba Gua Zhang in which I hold a 7th degree Black Sash. I also hold a 4th degree Black Sash in Ba Men Tai Chi Chuan. I also have extensive training in Hsing I Chuan and Chin Na.

I began training at the age of 15 in the art of Shotokan Karate -Do, under Shihan F.V. Romano. I was promoted to 1st Dan in August of 1984. Shihan Romano passed away that year, Shihan Ho had moved to the area and I began to train with him. I joined the Air Force in 1988, before I left Shihan Ho promoted me to 3rd Dan in Shotokan Karate-Do. While in the Air Force I was stationed at Wright- Patterson AFB in Dayton OH. I began training with Sifu Tim Norman in Shaolin Tiger Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan. While training with Sifu Norman, I participated in the Sabaki Challenge and was mentioned in Black Belt Magazine for my performance. After getting out the Air Force in 1991, I returned to my home area and opened a full time school in Hanover PA, teaching Shaolin Tiger Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan. At this time I began to train regularly under Soke Clement Riedner in the art of Ba Men Chuan Fa. Ba Men Chuan Fa is a Tai Chi Chuan based Chin na system. In 1993, I began studying Chiang Shan Ba Gua Zhang with Bok Nam Park in Baltimore MD. In 1995, I was able to take advantage of an opportunity to train at the Shaolin Temple in China. In 1996, I moved to Richmond VA to train full time with Sifu Bok Nam Park. In 1998 I began to work for American Family Fitness, my work schedule conflicted with my training schedule and I began studying with Sifu Wilson Pitts.
While with Sifu Pitts, I studied several arts to include 3 styles of Ba Gua Zhang, Cheng Tai Chi Chuan and Hsing I Chuan. While working in the fitness industry I obtained many fitness certifications to include; Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Consultant, and Specialist in Martial Arts Conditioning. I opened Living Waters Martial Arts
Time school in Hanover PA. I ran this school for 5 years. In 1996
I closed the school to move to Richmond VA to train full time with Bok Nam Park. In 2001, I opened Living Waters Martial Arts to teach Ba Gua Zhang and Tai Chi Chuan.
