Describe your main duties and responsibilities:

I carried my own caseload in assessing and offering interventions in areas of severe and complex mental health and developmental difficulties to young people and their families, providing written reports to referrers. I was based in an in-patient unit at Newcastle General which provided therapeutic group work, education, and treatments to residents, Day Unit attenders and out-patients. I was clinically active in all these areas. I facilitated training sessions for staff and was part of the senior clinical management group that ran these services. Part of my role was to liaise and develop links with Voluntary organizations and non-statutory agencies in co-working, and to help raise awareness of positive mental health practices. I took part in a range of research projects in both service delivery and clinical issues. There was a supervisory part of my job that encompassed the clinical (mental health) input and group work programme, . Teaching and service audit were also part of my role.

Rate of pay: 41k Reason for leaving or wanting to leave: I took early retirement.
