The PLC component of the system is compiled in Allen Bradley PLC 5000 software, hardware supplied by Allen Bradley corporation and the Windows component of the system was compiled in Rockwell’s Icom View to operate in a Windows environment.
System was produced to monitor all aspects of a long wall mining operation. The system is an integral part of the complete operation having total control, from the coal face to placing the coal on the stockpiles at the surface.

I returned to King Faisal Hospital on a locum contract to complete Western Star Implementation:

I was contracted as Senior Medical Technologist for the administration of the Blood Bank Laboratory:

• Implemented OH&S protocol into laboratory.

• Brokered agreements with other military hospitals in the region to coordinate safe blood supplies during times of crises. I also co-ordinated procurement of reagents when supplies failed to be delivered.

I began my working career in the the Royal Darwin Hospital pathology laboratory and worked in all section of the laboratory then specialised Blood Transfusion and Haematology Section. My duties involved all aspects of laboratory management and the provision of technical advice to the steering committee of the Red Cross Blood Donor Service for the Northern Territory.
I was a committee member for the selection of a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and a key member of the implementation team.
• I was responsible for researching, sourcing funds and implementing an automated micro-titre blood banking system into the Immunohaematology laboratory.
• I implemented micro-plate techniques into the Blood Transfusion laboratory.
• I was responsible for the production all associated documentation, which included the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the department to meet National Australian Testing Authority approval.
• Responsible to development and delivery of training to all Haematology and Blood Bank staff.
• Member of National Immunohaematology Continuing Education group (NICE).
