Historic Gardener

Consulant for heritage gardens.

Providing interesting and fun, educational garden displays at historic venues.
Lecturer on plants and gardens for garden groups etc.

The Historic Gardener gives talks and demonstrations on garden history from the Roman period up to the 'Dig for Victory' campaign.This includes a monk herbalist.
I can provide:
Historic gardening displays and interpretation for heritage sites.
Talks for Gardening Societies.
Schools visits.
Available for film work. I provide my own costume and all gardening equipment. Have a gardener who really looks like they know what they are doing! Full Equity member

The Prebendal Manor 1995/Current
Researched, designed and implemented the construction of the historically accurate medieval gardens. Set up a database of known medieval plants and their uses. I run day courses on Medieval Gardens and lead tours of the garden.

The Menagerie
The Menagerie was restored by the late Gervase Jackson-Stops. I was responsible for landscaping, supervision of temporary staff, management of the nursery and leading tours of the house and garden.
