I have been the librarian for a Hawera High School in Taranaki now for 10 years. I have completed my Library & Information Studies Diploma (2010). I have developed a content curating tool - pearltrees, a summer reading Programme & reading contests.

My role as Librarian has me acquisitioning, cataloguing, covering, issuing, recommending and organising information/books for curriculum based study; using a library management system, and Microsoft office 2007; Budget control; photocopying for both teachers and students; . Assisting with learning within the library, assisting teachers with information retrieval, assisting with Library website information, develop of summer reading programmes and developing students reading abilities and levels to encourage them to be lifelong learners.

Community Services Worker

STDC - South Taranaki District Council

July 2002 - October 2003

I worked as a Community Service Worker with STDC LibraryPlus for 2 1/2 years. My job description involved dealing with Council information and queries for the public. I enjoy helping the general public with any concerns that they may have. The other side of the Council office is working in the Library, this is was the area that helped me change my profession to Librarian.
