I have been living and working in Asia for over 20 years and in this time have assembled a wide range of experience which informs my writing.
While preferring environmental/geographical topics I can also turn my hand to faffy travel writing and blogging (Asia Literary Review) and short stories (see Hong Kong Imprint magazine).
I currently live in Laos where I am a writer and editor.
I have taught writing and have a fervent interest in using writing as a tool for development and inter-generational sharing and as such hope to get funding to write a how to do it manual for development workers, on writing for nature. I fear that in the rapid changes we are seeing traditions and knowledge treasures being lost in the homogenisation of culture.
I have written and published short stories and a book on Lao elephants and their history. 32 Souls tells the story of the symbiosis between mahout, ecology and elephants in Laos.
I am engaged in writing environmental fiction for Lao children
