Contract Management


As a self employed co owner of a building business in Tasmania Australia I was responsible for the creation and day to day management of contracts between us the builder and our client and also the contracts made with our sub contractors. I was also responsible for all debt and credit control and payroll. We had a showroom which displayed our suppliers products, I met with prospective clients, explained our plans and contracts as well as showing them the quality products on display. This meant good and up to date product knowledge and a clean welcoming environment for our clients.

Other roles included training of staff, procurement, assisting on building sites, costing and quotation of new homes and extension or renovations, and all general PA and administration duties.

Previous to this role I was the Contract Managers Assistant in the Health Insurance industry. I was involved in the initial preparation work prior to contract negotiations including costing and forecasting, the actual negotiations themselves and then the preparation and distribution of the contract. I was then involved in the training both in house and with hospital staff in the workings of the contract and processing of invoices and payments. Any interpretations, client complaints and possible agreements of one off variations where directed to me.

Hobart Gymnastics Academy

Key Responsibilities:
• Greeting gymnasts on arrival, marking attendance on roll and then confirming reception roll with coach roll on floor, answering queries both on the phone and in person from parents and staff
• Daily receipting of cash and EFTPOS, printing and checking invoices and statements though Quick Books(Recon), referring accounts for audit and making payment arrangements
• Regular stocktake of first aid supplier and replenishment
• General duties such as photo coping, emailing, laminating, setting up roll books for coaches, assisting Executive Director with notices, brochure publication, uniform orders and stocktakes, booking and setting up for birthday parties and any other duty as she requires.
• Checking pending gymnasts, trialled gymnasts and current gymnasts for attendance and following up on those gymnasts who have been absent.

Key Responsibilities
(As one of the owners my responsibilities spread above that below but my main responsibilities were as follows)
• Preparation and Management of all Contracts and Associated documents
• Preparation of documents for Councils, Surveyors, Draftsman, Lawyers, Franchise Owner, Sub Contracts Agreements, Site Safety Plans, Time management spreadsheets etc
• Managing income and expenditure including Invoicing, receipting and debt collecting together with the payment of our invoices etc including taxation documents and reports
• Full tendering from comparison of price and conditions, decision making to end tender to client.
• Sales and after sales meetings with clients including assisting with product choice etc, advising on maintenance and expectations of products
• Reception at our showroom for prospective clients and maintaining the displays from clients in good clean order. Keeping a stock of product brochures and keeping up to date with suppliers new products etc
• Assistance with onsite measures, site cleans, dilapidation reports, stock collection and delivery, and occasionally even site labour and minor works like sanding, painting, using various carpentry tool like drop saws, framing, tiling etc as necessary
• Design, production and application of advertising, vehicle, site, warning and display signs in vinyl.
• I have a really good working knowledge of the Australian Standards, can read a building plan and calculate necessary product requirements from them. I have completed unofficially Certificate iv in Building and Construction along with my husband as he formally obtained his certificate.
