Melani started as a candidate attorney in the tax at ENS during where she assisted on various matters relating to tax&exchange controls. After being admitted as an attorney of the High Court of SA, she moved to ENS Forensics, after which she became a Contracts Manager for a Cape Town based FIDIC, government contract in the transport sector, while also attending to independent consulting on legal matters, risk advisement, general business process&improvements and contract management. She strives to resolve matters amicably and focuses on assisting clients&business partners to consider acting on calculated risks when in difficult environments. She has experience in drafting&reviewing internal controls, policies,business procedures contracts & tenders.She also have experience in labour law, internal audits, business intelligence, due diligence, MFMA, FIDIC, supply change management, risk controls&fraud prevention, investigating misappropriation of company funds, fraud&corruption. She also attends to facilitating business disputes & opportunities and contract negotiations. She is passionate about analysing facts, situations,systems,agreements,policies&procedures and identifying problems, risks, fraud, corruption, non-compliance and providing advice on improvements, solutions&preventative measures. Having experience in legal,tax,forensics&consulting in both the private&public sector, holding both a Bcomm&LLB, she has a rare combination of skills which can add value to any project.
