Projects

Mr. Swan's Song

Mr. Swan’s Song is a solo project created by and consisting of Michael DeBenedictis. This project features him on bass, guitar, vocals, and MIDI instrumentation of instruments he can't play (well or not yet) like drums, keyboard, strings, and other synthesized pads and sonic layers. It is the product of his experience from 2001-209 in bands (on bass) ranging from alternative, indie, garage rock to industrial, nu-metal, and thrash metal, but highly influenced by his favorite bands like Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Death in Vegas, Sound of Animals Fighting, Tricky, Lou Reed, and other alternative, indie, and experimental rock bands. In November 2009 he started writing, recording, mixing, guerrilla mastering, and overall producing material for this project as creative release for material that is solely his own.

Currently there are five albums of music available for sales online - Mr. Swan's Song, Fifth Wheels & B-Sides, Devils In Your Back Pocket, Perpetual Transience, and Even Mutes Sometimes Speak - at I-Tunes, Amazon MP3, Spotify, MySpace Music, MediaNet, eMusic, Zune, Rhapsody, Nokia, and VerveLife.

Michael DeBenedictis, who's been playing guitar and bass since 2000, spent 2001-2009 floating from band to band on bass. These bands played anything from alternative, garage rock to punk, nu-metal, and thrash metal - not in the order. Between these bands he had been writing (and occasionally performing, solo) his own music on guitar and began amateur endeavors in recording, mixing, and producing material. During this time he earned an Associate's degree in Computer Information Services (from the National Institute of Technology in Cuyahoga Falls, OH) in December of 2005 and an Associate's degree in Commercial Music Technology (from Stark State College of Technology in North Canton, OH) in May of 2012.

Currently Mr. Swan's Song is looking for members to round out the line-up for live shows and writing more material for upcoming albums. Mr. Swan's Song is currently seeking a bassist, guitarist, and keyboard player. You can contact Mr. Swan's Song by e-mail at mrswanssong@gmail.com.
