I have 12 years of experience as a Mathematics Teacher: my ability to conduct effective teaching activities has been well proven in my past and present teaching roles. Recently, I worked as a teacher at Le Fevre High School and taught Mathematics for Years 8 to 12 under the Teach SA Pathways Program of the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) (this program was specifically designed to support 10 outstanding overseas-trained teachers; I was one of the recipients). In this role, I carried out my duties efficiently and effectively which was acknowledged by my coordinator, one of my referees for this application. I am keen to maintain high quality in my teaching activities through innovative methods of student engagement: my teaching has received high ratings when evaluated by students from a wide spectrum. I am always positive and enthusiastic about challenges and opportunities, which is reflected in my behaviour, speech and encouragement to my colleagues, students and members of the public. I readily develop rapport with the people with whom I work especially with gifted and Non-English Speaking Background students and teach using both verbal and non-verbal language. I have effectively used these skills in my teaching roles at Le Fevre High School and Eynesbury College. My personal attributes including enthusiasm, patience, compassion, clarity of thinking and being well-organised, combined with high moral and ethical practices contribute well to my professional activities: this was acknowledged by my colleagues in the academic team delivering Foundation Mathematics at Eynesbury College. My successful strategies in the workplace include prioritising my work, remaining focused by completing one task before commencing the next, maintaining good communication and having good reflective practice.
