I was employed with the Metropolitan Police Service, London, for over 10 years - I took early retirement in June 2013 and left the UK to join my fiance in Brisbane. I will marring in the New Year therefore this is my opportunity to start my 'education' and seek advice on employment possibilities/prospects - with the view of using the skills I have gained during my previous years of employment.

I was a Station Officer .. responsible for Front Office .. this included many duties .. dealing with all members of the pubic that attended, whether voluntary or not! People wanting to report crimes, people returning on bail, answering or endeavouring to answer a wide spectrum of questions. Dealing with aggressive customers and victims of emotional or physical injury. Emergency Life Supoort including Defibrillation, Taking reports for missing people and the administration and action thereafter. Dealing with various firearms, pistols, shotguns and pyrotechnics handed in over the counter - safety being of paramount importance - the correct procedures being adhered to for the disposal of same. Seeking advice where necessary. Dealing with minors in various circumstances abandonment and child abuse. Dealing with lost dogs and seized dogs until the attendance of the Met Police Dog Handlers or Battersea Dogs Home. The taking of all crime reports and part investigation depending on the severity of the situation. I have also been out on regular Police constable duties - on first response duties - these have included domestic situations, vehicle collisions, fatalities, deaths, fires, burglaries - all incidents requiring police attendance. I have been on Police Aid, these have been organised demonstrations, football matches, carnivals, military and royal events. I have walked miles and miles as a Police Officer. I have been awarded two Commendations - one for bravery and one for investigations skills. I spent many years also a Special Metropolitan Police Sergeant. My duties have included stop and search. Custody and CCTV duties. I have done my fair share of standing outside of crime scenes for hours and completing Crime Scene Logs that goes with this delightful posting!
Qualifications & Certifications
Blackfen Secondary School for Girls - all exams for maths, english, history, sociology, geography, taken and passed. Hendon Police Training School for Police training, Officer Safety Training, modules 1 -4 for Leadership Training, etc.
