I am a very compassionate social care worker with a wealth of skills and experience of supporting vulnerable clients to enhance the quality of their life and enable them to contribute economically, socially and meaningfully to today's society. My strengths include excellent communication and listening skills and I have the ability to establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with clients, colleagues and collaboratively. I have worked in a number of supported accommodation services supporting both young people and adults to enhance skills including budgeting, shopping, domestic skills and source training/employment and develop independence. I am IT literate, excellent writing reports and always adopt person centred individualised care plans to ensure I provide the highest of quality services and network with confidence advocating for my client group. I have valid experience of supporting clients leading chaotic lifestyles and presenting with issues such as alcohol and substance misuse, mental health issues and, or repeat involvement with criminal justice services. I offer clients opportunities to experience an alternative way of life and make different choices in order to break the cycle of homelessness. I have 12yrs experience of working in the benefit agency and a good understanding therefore of the qualifying conditions for benefit and am trained on welfare reform. I have worked in education providing additional support to pupils having difficulties for a number of reasons including challenging behaviour, ADHD, autism and aspergers syndrome. I manage challenging behaviour with confidence and was very passionate about my role as special educational needs auxiliary. I have experience also of delivering a high standard of employability skills and worked as a tutuor on a "Get ready for work" programme for young people where I supported trainees to reach their maximum potential improving life, pre-vocational and vocational skills.
