Qualified chef

in various restaurants and hotels, including my own restaurant, until I found a love of the ocean.

I have accumulated a wide array of skills in the past 25 years of my working life. Including my time spent in Broome on pearl farms and especially off the West Coast of Tasmania where I was cray-fishing for three and a half years. There I gained enough experience and sea-time to enable me to go to the Australian Maritime College where I completed three courses and also won a scholarship from the Merchant Navy War Memorial Fund. I have also developed an interest in diving and have completed my dive-master.

Furthermore, working in the hospitality industry for 19 years has taught me not only cooking and organisational skills, but also an appreciation and value of hard work.
I am not unused to spending time at sea and would like to advance my knowledge of the Marine Industry and increase my sea-time hours. I am a quick learner, keen and a very sociable person, and together with the above-mentioned, feel I would be an ideal candidate for the advertised position.
