I can teach, and have, for 35 years, taught English as a First Language, E.F.L., E.S.L. and English Literature to all ages (06-65). I have taught students at all levels of ability from mentally challenged teenagers to post-graduate professional adults.
I use grammar games, songs, role-play and theatre to make learning student-centred, effective and fun, with the stress on communication skills. I have studied and taught adults using the method "suggestopedia" or "accelerated learning" which develops all four skills in an innovative way, using music and dramatic readings of scripts written by the teacher especially for a particular group of students.
I have trained twice as an English teacher, once in the U.K. (P.G.C.E.) and the second time in Sweden (T.E.F.L. for young adults at "Folk High Schools" or Colleges or Further Education. I have participated in a large number of T.E.F.L. workshops, conferences and in-service-training courses.
